Champaign Speedskating
Club Rules
-
Be on time, if practice is scheduled for
5:50 on the ice, that means be there 30min ahead of time to warm up,
stretch, put on pads, and be on the ice at 5:50.

All skaters need to be aware of the US
Speedskating code of conduct. There can be consequences that may affect
more than just the skater.

If you cannot make it to the workout, you
need to contact one of the coaches and let them know why you will not be
there. Please do this in advance.
-
No skater should be skating on the
track unless all the pads are setup, and the track is set.
-
Please do not call the coaches after 10pm.
Unless it is important.
-
We are guests of the facilities we use. We
will leave them in a condition better than we found.
-
Communication is vital, never be afraid to
talk to the coaches.
-
All skaters will do warm up and cool downs.
-
Equipment will be ready prior to arriving
at the workout!
-
Any conflicts with other coaches, spectators
or skaters will be handled through the coaches.
-
No skater is to leave a workout or
competitions early, unless they ok it with the coach.
-
Skaters will finish all competitions, unless
they are hurt, or are instructed by the coach to stop.
-
All skaters, regardless of age, are expected
to care for their equipment.

Information will be sent via email to both
skater, and skater parents & posted on the clubs website. (when applicable)

There will be NO horseplay on the ice. This
includes lying or sitting on the ice. (It is dangerous to you and to others
around.)

Always look before crossing the skating track
to and from center ice.

ALL skaters will follow the rules of the ice.
Any skater not following rules will sit.

ALL skaters will be courteous to ALL
officials and volunteers, and problems with either group will go through the
coach.

Any skater, who is not following the rules,
may be asked to leave the club. This is a club so respect one another.
Parent Rules
-
If practice is scheduled for 5:50 on the
ice make sure your child is ready to be on the ice at 5:50, so you can help
with pads
before practice starts. Try to be
there 30min ahead of time.

Communication is vital, never be afraid to
talk to the coaches.

We are the coaches, let them coach.
-
Parents are required to help put on and
take off the pads. (They are for your child’s safety.)
-
Parents are encouraged to be involved, please
stay and watch the workouts.
-
Children under 18 need to have a
parent/guardian present at practice and meets unless other arrangements have
been made with the coaches.
-
Please do not call the coaches after 10pm.
Unless it is important.

No parent should be on the ice or hockey
boxes unless the coach Oks it.
-
No communication should be made to skaters on
the ice, unless Okayed by the coach. It is disruptive to the coaches and
skaters, and dangerous.

Let the Coaches, coach.

The coach will handle all conflicts with race
officials, volunteers, and facilities, please make the coach aware of any
and all conflicts.
-
Any withdraws from races need to go through
the head coach.
-
No skater is to leave a workout or a
competitions early without letting the coach know.

Any skater, who is not following the rules,
may be asked to leave the club. This is a club so respect one another.

It is the responsibility of the parent to
make sure their child gets to the workouts.
-
Make sure your child’s equipment is ready
prior to arriving at the workout!

The coaches do recognize that it is your
decision to allow your skater to participate in this club. Feel free to
contact the coach and ask questions.
